Aldersgate UMC Endowment Brochure:
Aldersgate
FUNDING THE Future
Endowment & creative giving opportunities
We share God’s love in many ways: reaching out to those in need,
volunteering our skills and talents, pledging to the church
budget, and learning about planned giving such as remembering
Aldersgate in our Will.
Planned gifts are one way to support
our Endowment Funds which enhance all our ministries into
the future. Once the
fund value reaches $100,000, our Endowment Fund will
distribute income to support property needs and missions
projects.
In addition, our investments include a Scholarship Fund
to support participation in education, camps and mission
activities and our
Memorial Fund
which temporarily holds Memorial gifts until disbursed or
invested in the Endowment Fund.
Stewards of Accumulated
Resources
God calls us to faithful stewardship of the assets with which
God blesses us during our lives. This includes both faithful
giving and estate planning. Now
is the time to consider how to support this church we love to
ensure it remains vital in the future.
Aldersgate UMC’s
strength lies in our
u
relationship with God
u
relationships with one another
u
relationship with the world and our environment.
Through these relationships we make a difference in the world
and in the lives of our members and friends. Your creative gifts
allow us to carry out our mission now and in the future.
Two truths go hand
in hand. The first is the ministry of this place is of God and
will be preserved to the end of time.
The second tells us God counts on us to make that happen.
Prayerfully consider the benefits of making a permanent
difference through your estate planning.
As we have been blessed, so may we bless those who follow
in our footsteps.
Your Gift
Gifts or bequests can be any
amount. An Endowment Fund Committee member, your lawyer or
your financial advisor can explain the many types of gifts
and methods of giving best suited for you.
What Is A “Planned Gift”?
Planned Gifts are typically accumulated assets offered in a carefully
considered manner to
express one’s commitment without
impairing personal or family financial well-being.
Donors determine the
appropriate time weighing personal/family needs, the church’s
needs, and tax benefits.
The best asset to consider might be securities, bonds,
mutual funds, required minimum distributions, insurance
policies, real estate or cash.
Gifts can support the Aldersgate Endowment or a specific Fund or
need. Restricted
gifts are approved by the Endowment Committee and Church Council
to insure requested purposes can be accommodated.
