Prayer Shawl Ministry:

Do you enjoy knitting, crocheting, quilting and chatting? Our group is just the one for you! We enjoy meeting each Monday afternoon from 2:00 - 3:30 PM and invite you to join us. Our hands were busy during the fall working on numerous Christmas Fair projects as well as making prayer shawls to give to people who needed a reminder that God surrounds and comforts them in all the experiences of life - Joy, sadness, uncertainty and illness. We have also provided tiny white shawls for the Service of Baptism for our new babies at Aldersgate. Sometimes, we receive a note from the recipient of a prayer shawl! U share this one with you.

Dear Aldersgate friends. The prayer shawl you gave me before my surgery last year gave me such comfort. The hospital let me keep it with me until just before I went into the OR and had it ready for me in recovery. Throughout my surgery, the shawl kept me warm and reminded me of the love and support that I have received. I am so grateful for all of your prayers. I recently sent the shawl to my dear friend who is, sadly, losing her battle with breast cancer. I hope someone else will feel the comfort from the prayer shawl I have made."

Enclosed with her note was a beautiful shawl and it will be our pleasure to pass it on to the next person who needs the gentle reminder of God's "ever present help in time of trouble" or joy. You are welcome to join us.
